xlt1200 fuel issue? Bogs after about 15 mins

xlt1200 with 50 hours. had cyl rebuild in december of this past year. Receipt says carbs were rebuilt.

Ive had ski out two times only this season. Both times, it ran fine for about 10-15 mins and then all of the sudden it started getting boggy and wouldnt go over like 20 mph. sometimes when playing with throttle, i would get some spurts of speed. Return to ramp, pull ski out of water, fire and rev it a few times, and the bogs would clear out and it would rev fine. Checked plugs. CYL 1 and 2 plugs white with no color, cyl 3 plug looks good. For some reason, after riding for a little bit, the first two cyls stop getting fuel.

120psi in all 3 cyls

Is there a way to test fuel system? Or should I just pull all the lines and make sure no obstructions or clogs? I just pulled carbs out last night, so I will be going through them tonight to make sure they were actually rebuilt by this shop. Was thinking about just replacing all fuel lines anyway. already did oil lines.

ski has d plate, so not a cat issue.

Rope wrapped around shaft

I got the tow rope wrapped around the shaft and it went towards the front of the shaft not the impeller. I got the rope out but there is a rubber seal around that part that I'm not sure if it got damaged. I took the ski out the next day and all seems good but just wondering if I should take it to the shop. Any info would be great. Thank you

Hey guys,

So my employers son sank his 2012 superjet last week monday.I was only told about this today as I'm on vacation.
As I am nncharge of maintenance on all his water toys , I need to rebuild it.
So bearing in mind that I am based in saudi Arbia so parts are all coming from USA , does anyone know what the specialist tools are for pulling the crank(I'm guessing this is finished as no one knew to flush the motor or try and save it) and what parts other than a new crank, top end rebuild kit, and gasket kits. Im doing the top end rebuild because the compression was starting to slump a bit so it was time anyway.

Also any tips or tricks and maybe videos on the easiest way todo this would be much appreciated

Kind regards

Adi Miller

YDS Cable 1.3 vs 2.0

I was reading into the YDS 1.3 vs 2.0 topic and I'm aware that models from 2012 onwards need the 2.0 software.

However, I was wondering if it was just the software that changed or did they change the connector as well? Is it possible to use the 2.0 software with a 1.3 cable?

Also, what kind of adapter would be required to use the Yamaha YDIS software from the Google play store (sorry, not allowed to post the link).

Thank You!

1997 GP760 idles then shuts off says low oil

Hi, I recently purchased a 97 GP760, and the first time taking it out it ran great for about 45 mins. I stopped to idle for a min, and when I went to go it shut off. After trying to get it to go it did the same thing, it would start and idle but would shut off when given gas. Eventually it would idle for just a second then shut off. The last time before I gave up it made a loud beep and said oil. It had over a half tank oil when I started and still had around half a tank when this happened. So I poured the 3/4 quart I had and it kept doing the same thing but finally when I got it to go I just stayed full throttle and got it back to the boat. After letting it sit for 3 hours it fired up and rode home, but again at full throttle as I didn't want to try and idle. Is there a built in electronic feature that makes it shut off when the oil gets below half, or is this another issue? I appreciate any input.

2000 waverunner gp760 porpoising

I'm new to the page and to jet ski maintenance. I've got two used jet skis that I'm trying to get ready for family use. I recently replaced the steering cable on a 2001 seadoo xp, and it's handling well now (though taking on more water than I'd expect, so I'm replacing the seal between the jet assembly and the hull to hopefully stop the leak?).

Anyway, the other jet ski I've got is a 2000 waverunner gp760. I replaced both sponsons with new parts, thinking that might help the porpoising issue (the others were broken fairly badly). I haven't checked to see if the manual trim is actually changing the jet, but what I've read says that the manual trim is fairly worthless even if it works properly.

How does the adjustment work on the sponsons on these (in theory - not mechanically)? I set them at about the mid point of Up/Down (mid way on the middle slot). What does setting them Up versus setting them Down do to change the ride? I can't find much that explains their function. I'm not sure which direction to adjust...

Also, I've read that adding two washers between each bolt on the front of the ride plate and hull, and one washer between each bolt on the rear of the ride plate and hull will help with porpoising. Would these just be standard thickness washers, or thick washers?

The family will be in town in a week and a half for lake week, so I'm hoping to get the waverunner riding smoother and the seadoo to stop taking on water in the rear of the hull. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Deal or No Deal

Hello, this is my first post to this forum. I want thank everyone in advance for there help and support. First off I have never owned a jet ski but have ridden many time on friends skis. I hAve a opportunity to own a Tiger Shark TS 1000 L. I have a Arctic Cat 250 2 wheel drive ATV that is in very nice condition. I have someone who is Wanting to trade his ski for my ATV. I have not seen the Ski in person but am going to look at it this weekend. His reason for him wanting to trade is his wife is not really into riding the ski and they do not use it that much. I do not know hardly anything about buying a ski so I am wanting to know I'd this is a good deal or not. What should I inspect for, what questions do I ask him for. I have heard a lot of things about tiger sharks, both good and bad. I may not be able to give it a test drive on the water due to not beating any place close by to give it a teat run. Also another reason he wants to trade. I have some pictures that. Will add. He states it is in near mint condition. By the pics it looks really nice. What should I do ?????. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long post.

I can't seem to figure out how to upload more than one pic. I try to upload the other pics but this is the only one that shows up. I might be doing something wrong.

Best Regards

Waverunner recommendations

I am looking to upgrade from 2 old 2 stroke seadoos to newer (2007+) model 4 stroke waverunners. This will be for pleasure lake riding in SC. I don't need or necessarily want super high performance, just something reliable and fun cruising for all ages. I am looking for recommendations on years/models to focus on and any I should stay away from. Hoping to learn from folks that have been there before.....thanks.

12F/15F Quest for Economical Gauges/Meter

Has anyone tried gauges from another ski on the 12F/15F? I came across this on ebay, looked up the wiring diagram and it seems to have the same inputs/outputs, except RPM.

ebay.com/itm/KAWASAKI-ULT...-/381141288972]KAWASAKI[/url] ULTRA 250/260 GAUGE CLUSTER/DISPLAY MFD LCD 25031-3755 jetski 250x NR

It does not have SLO mode, but I think grounding the yellow/black wire coming out of the ECU will turn off SLO.
I might be picking up a 15F today for $850 with a bad gauge so I've been trying to think out of the box rather than just shelling out $400+ right away for a gauge.

2005 stx r 1200 no spark

Ok. Well I bought this ski yesterday from a buddy for 500. The backstory I got was that it ran great but had low voltage (about 11v) eventually it died and he had to get pulled back to the ramp. The first thing he did was change the stator with a used eBay stator. That was supposedly bad. Then he bought a new stator and got it all back together now it has no spark. Also the gauge cluster was changed at the same time. Now it has no spark. What are the steps I should take. Check the stator? Then how can I test the cdi No? Also is there a main fuse or something that would be over looked? Maybe bad kill switch could the battery just be bad causing weak spark?

Just looking for ideas and help please

Thank you

Hi,
new member & new to waverunners.
Have a used 1995 Venture 700 that I can hear the starter solenoid "click" but no crank. Battery connections good. Had battery charger hooked up.
Are these know for the actuators to bind up or what commonly fails in the starting system?
Got any tips to troubleshoot?
And how easy to R&R??
Any help appreciated.

I just got one and it is exceptionally fast and very stable. Great performance except the deceleration from the four stroke is noticeable and is makes it very tempermental... Anyone heard of some throttle aftermarket products that help ? I heard from someone but haven't been able to confirm.

I have a 95 SPX that is giving me problems. First, let me post everything I have replaced thus far;

All brand new fuel lines
Dual carburetors completely gone through and rebuilt (including new needles and seats)
New spark plugs
Brand new battery
Fuel tank pulled and pressure washed
New fuel baffle
New selector switch

The ski will run fine on the trailer but as soon as I put it in the water, it fires up without missing a beat. After riding 200-300 yards it will die (very suddenly with no hesitations). After it does it acts like the battery is weak and tries to start but won't. As weird as this sounds, I can pull the spark plug, hold it against metal, and the ski will fire and run. When the plug is put back in again, the ski will not fire. I'm at a loss with this. When I take it back home and charge the battery (out of the ski) and put it back in it will fire and run on the trailer as long as I want it to. PLEASE HELP!

Hello all--

I just received 2 1996 Kawasaki 1100 Jet Skis. The last time they were registered was in 2008. They were given to me free from a older man; with titles believe it or not. Apparently the last time they where ridden one of them stopped running and they towed it in, took to shop and were told that the engine was seized. The other one hasn't ran since. I put a battery on it and it turned over, they have been kept in a garage for all of this time. For now, I want to get the one that turns over running. What immediate maintenance should I do?

I was given 2 free 1996 Kawasaki 1100's, they both have titles believe it or not. The story goes that in 2006 they where riding them and one quit; they took it to the shop and they told them the oiler stopped and motor seized up. The owners then put them both on the trailer and parked in a garage, which is were they have sat since then. The engine that is seized is still apart, I plan to get the good one running first then make a decision to either order a crate engine(~$1200) or rebuild the top of the broken one(~$300). As of now, we got the better one to turn over, I ordered a carb rebuild kit and a block plate for the oiler. I know there are mixed reviews about doing this but I really dont mind mixing gas (32:1 is the plan; please let me know if you disagree).
Any advice on my next steps is greatly appreciated.
